The ambiance of the venue is great. You’ll find friendly people helping you, answering all questions you have.
I had Pork Belly for the appetizer. It was juicy but too much fatty for me. I asked the waitress if I get that one or Foie Gras. She suggested that. I had Foie Gras last time in Auberge and I wasn’t impressed. Don’t get me wrong, it was a nice dish, but not to my diet. I found it hard to find a nice appetizer if you are not a fishy person.
I did find that our waitress took a wrong turn when I told her about me not liking the Foie Gras last time. I felt she got defensive and was trying to tell me that it was the best. That’s the only thing that if she wants, can improve on.
I also tried the scallop and octopus, it was very fishy (smells fishy). I didn’t like it as I am not a fish person but I am sure the people who like fish will enjoy it.
For the main, I tried the steak. It was a nice piece of meat, tender and very delicious. You can see the design is very beautiful as well.
We ended up having the Souffle for the desert. It was a nice one if you like Souffles you will love the souffle at Auberge.
Auberge usually participates in Summerlicious and Winterlicious for Toronto. If you want to give it a try, make sure to be alarmed for those times and book your reservations fast.
